Especially as we enter the winter season, your family's health is our top priority. We understand that illness can be present before symptoms appear, and while we can only control what happens in our spaces, we adhere to the highest standards of cleanliness to minimize risk.

The Family Room Cleaning Rhythm

  • ★ Continuous Disinfection Rhythm: Our staff performs targeted disinfection of high-touch surfaces in the lulls between customer visits to ensure maximum safety without disrupting your experience.
  • ★ Designated Sanitization Bins: "Dirty Toy Receptacles" are mounted on the walls. When a child is finished playing with a toy, it goes directly into the bin for sanitization, preventing cross-contamination.
  • ★ Optimal Materials: We prioritize nonporous materials for our furniture and toys to ensure minimal absorption and bacterial growth.
  • ★ Scheduled Professional Cleaning: Our internal team completes cleaning and disinfection before opening, between shifts, and at closing, followed by a full professional cleaning crew after hours.
  • ★ Nightly Reset: All toys and furniture are fully sanitized and deep-cleaned every night after closing.

👟 No Outside Shoes: To keep our floors clean and sanitary for little ones, all outside shoes must be removed in our front foyer.

  • During the summer, I had the wonderful opportunity to facilitate a summer camp at The Family Room. The age of children ranged from rising second graders to rising fifth graders. During the times that we weren't exploring Chicago, the kids all had a blast. There were toys, games, and art materials that children had access to. It was great to see the older kids enjoy being kids and playing with cars, legos, and making jewelry. It is a great social space that engaged children in laughter, singing, and even some alone time if they needed it. Kids loved movie time, and outdoor play as well. Children of any age have an opportunity here to spend time with friends, meet new ones, and enjoy time together. As an independent contractor, the space was perfect. We felt welcomed from the very first day. Our children had the freedom to move through the space and enjoy it to the fullest. Kim was so great to work with.
